Yohji Yamamoto and Sarah Moon present Dialogue, a limited-edition photo book that captures the essence of their long-standing collaboration. Available now through delpire & co, the release coincides with a special exhibition held at Yohji Yamamoto’s Aoyama flagship store from June 6 to 30.
Priced at ¥25,300 (tax included), the book features 45 newly captured images centered around the past five years of Yohji Yamamoto’s spring/summer and fall/winter collections. These photographs—ranging from vibrant color to moody black-and-white—reflect the evolving yet timeless vision of both creators. Known for her poetic fashion photography, Moon has been documenting Yamamoto’s work since the late 1990s, drawn to his avant-garde sensibility and defiant independence from trends.
Dialogue opens with Moon’s intimate portraits of Yamamoto, flows through iconic imagery from the ’90s, and arrives in the present with sharp visual references like the symbolic scissors of tailoring. The book is woven together with Yamamoto’s favorite words and Moon’s haunting compositions, closing with the designer’s own sketches—bringing personal insight to a deeply mutual creative journey.
The book is available at Yohji Yamamoto and Yohji Yamamoto Pour Homme flagship stores across Japan, as well as online via the Shop Yohji Yamamoto and Wildside Yohji Yamamoto. Online sales begin at 4:00 p.m. on launch day.
