Japanese menswear brand Soshiotsuki has officially presented its Spring/Summer 2027 collection, titled “The Persistence of Memory”. The seasonal narrative centers on inherited and personal memories, introducing a sense of nostalgia for a holiday resort setting. The core creative inspiration stems from the image of an otherwise strict father relaxing his demeanor while on vacation, translating into garments that feature engineered, built-in imperfections such as single flipped-out collars, asymmetrical shorts, and structural curves that naturally evoke the letter “S”. Inspired by the melting objects in Salvador Dalí’s artwork, the tailoring achieves a soft visual impression through completely reconsidered pattern cutting, internal canvas alterations, and concealed metal structural reinforcements rather than relying solely on pliable materials. The textile selection utilizes yarn-dyed wools and linens alongside garment-washed cotton manufactured entirely in Japan, rendered in a time-worn palette of dry beige, clay reddish brown, and faded sax blue.

Complementing the core apparel line, the collection introduces an expansive range of specialized collaborations with notable industry mainstays. Soshiotsuki continues its footwear partnership with Asics SportStyle to introduce the Gel-Axist FF sneaker model, available in four colorways featuring perforated leather and high-density mesh variations. The brand also partners with Sanyo Yamacho to deliver classic-looking leather Gurkha sandals in grained black, smooth light brown, and green. Alongside Sanyocoat, the brand presents a water-repellent double-breasted long coat inspired by a 1980s garment worn by the designer’s father, complete with detachable shoulder pads and an original vintage logo. The collaborative range is rounded out by a specialized cracked-texture leather jacket developed alongside Blackmeans, crafted from beige cowhide and treated with layers of khaki pigment paint, red, and navy spray paint. Additionally, jewelry designer Kota Okuda returns to create a selection of custom accessories including tie clips, cufflinks, belts, and specially molded collar stays that curve into the letter “S”.
