Yoshirotten’s “Sun” Meets a Manga Icon Coji-Coji

A vibrant new exhibition brings together the beloved manga character Coji-Coji and visionary artist YOSHIROTTEN. Opening at Shibuya PARCO and later in Osaka, this universe of color celebrates Coji-Coji’s 30th anniversary in style.

COJI-COJI UNIVERSE: COJI-COJI meets YOSHIROTTEN “SUN” opens July 4 at PARCO MUSEUM TOKYO in Shibuya, followed by a second run in Osaka from August 8. The show marks the 30th anniversary of Coji-Coji, the whimsical manga character created by Momoko Sakura, best known for Chibi Maruko-chan. In a first-of-its-kind collaboration, Coji-Coji is reimagined through the radiant world of YOSHIROTTEN’s “SUN”—a visual series of 365 digital works painted by hand during the pandemic, each depicting a reflective metallic sun surrounded by shifting colors. The result is a surreal, immersive experience where Coji-Coji enters a vibrant new dimension. The exhibition features original collaborative artwork, LED installations, and exclusive merchandise including T-shirts, keychains, and tote bags. Limited aluminum prints will also be made available for order. Special tickets come with a collector’s edition of MAPS JAPAN No.5 – Summer Issue featuring a Coji-Coji anniversary cover. All visitors will receive an original balloon as a gift.
