Chitose Abe Harnesses the Power of Muhammad Ali for a Radical Sacai Autumn Winter 2026 Collection

Building on the concept of creative liberation through dismantling, Chitose Abe introduces structural trickery and iconic collaborations to redefine the beauty of destruction for Sacai.

For the Autumn-Winter 2026 Men’s and Autumn 2026 Women’s collections, Sacai founder Chitose Abe expands her signature hybridization by exploring the beauty of destruction. This season, the act of dismantling serves as a creative catalyst, symbolized by the imagery of Muhammad Ali punching through—a metaphor for the freedom of design, thinking, and being.

The collection introduces a key skirt and pant hybrid silhouette that relies on ingenious construction trickery rather than traditional layering. Wide pants are precisely cut and then cropped to shift the form, while jackets are spliced horizontally with lower halves attached to the lining to appear as a single, layered garment. A focus on refined details is evident in the reimagined shirt and tie, featuring scarf-like ties wrapped gently around the collar in place of rigid knots.

Abe continues her exploration of pure clothing archetypes through high-profile collaborations. The ongoing partnership with Levi’s yields remixed Type 1 and Type 2 denim jackets integrated with leather biker details or bomber jacket hybridizations. Additionally, Sacai reunited for the third time with A.P.C. to debut a new fabric inspired by Jessica Ogden’s patchwork quilts, re-imagined through Sacai’s distinct lens. The footwear presentation is highlighted by the J.M. Weston Golf Derby, which morphs with a new bordeaux colorway
