For the Autumn-Winter 2026 collection, the Tokyo design team Khoki explores the theme of things that felt boring during childhood. The collection is a deep reflection on a town without streetlights or convenience stores, findng new value in the fragments of the past that were once overlooked: the vivid change of seasons, the sound of footsteps on mountain paths, a mother’s flower shop, and diverse folk art. These memories, once outside of conscious appreciation, now emerge with a powerful magnetic pull.
The aesthetic of Khoki is likened to the excitement of a flea market—a chaotic yet uplifting space where unexpected treasures might be found. This season translates that sense of discovery into garments that are playful and humorous yet remain functional as everyday wear. The collection achieves a unique synthesis of Eastern and Western influences, where a sense of nostalgia houses both memory and fantasy, connecting the past and present to future aspirations.
Since its founding in Tokyo in 2019, Khoki has gained significant international recognition, including the Tokyo Fashion Award 2023 and being named an LVMH Prize semifinalist in 2024. The AW26 presentation continues this trajectory, showcasing the label’s evolution into a “New Archive” through eclectic patchwork, hybrid silhouettes, and a meticulous attention to the cultural textures of rural Japan.
