Masu and Solakzade have announced a collaborative capsule collection, launching exclusively at The Last Store Osaka. Solakzade, founded by the Okamoto brothers in 2005 and renowned for vintage eyewear, jewelry, and watches, has maintained a long-standing relationship with Masu designer Shinpei Goto. Their shared history has now culminated in the “Dream Capsule” collection.
The centerpiece is a limited run of 100 sunglasses named Rhinoceros, inspired by a 1960s French vintage frame once found at Solakzade. Featuring Masu’s signature angel wing–like temples, custom Italian acetate in twilight hues, and six-pointed star rivets, each piece has been handcrafted by artisans in Sabae, Japan. The rhino motif, often a symbol of solitude, reflects Solakzade’s vision of embracing individuality.
In addition to eyewear, the lineup reimagines Solakzade’s iconic psychedelic quilted set-up from Masu’s FW21 collection, now crafted in brushed silk satin with leather piping and rare rabbit fur details. The offering expands to four styles: a silk blouson, trousers, apron, and scarf, each designed with upgraded materials and tailoring.
The collection will be available from September 3 to 9 at The Last Store Osaka, with the space extended into an adjacent event area featuring special installations. Purchases during the event come with a bespoke engraving service, allowing customers to add a unique three-digit number to their sunglasses. On September 6, designer Shinpei Goto will be present in-store.
