Japanese design brand goyemon, known for fusing traditional craftsmanship with contemporary innovation, is set to release its latest model, unda DUAL, on June 9, 2025, via a lottery-based sale. As an update to the brand’s signature setta-sneaker hybrid “unda,” this new version draws inspiration from the dual-thong structure (nishaku-hanao) typical of traditional setta sandals.
The unda DUAL introduces a fresh silhouette that pairs layered thongs with a bold, three-dimensional midsole. Designed to provide both comfort and visual impact, the footwear lives up to the “DUAL” name in every detail.
Key features include dual-structured straps combining durable ripstop on the upper and soft PU suede underneath for enhanced comfort and hold. The double straps offer a stable yet novel wearing experience unlike past unda models. The new “DUAL Sole” features a pronounced midsole that adds volume and presence, making the shoe as practical for city walks as for long-distance travel, while maintaining goyemon’s signature cushioning.
Another defining detail is the dual woven brand tags layered at the heels, visually expressing the duality theme. Combining modern street sensibility with a reverence for tradition, unda DUAL marks a refined step forward in goyemon’s evolution.
The BLACK GUM edition offers a sleek, unified black upper with contrasting brown outsole. The straps juxtapose matte-finished synthetics with high-durability materials, and the footbed uses high-resilience polyurethane with a soft matte texture for stability and comfort.
The TRIPLE GRAY version explores tonal depth by layering multiple shades and textures of gray. With subtle ivory accents and uniform monochrome DUAL soles from midsole to outsole, the result is a sophisticated, street-ready silhouette.
