Soshiotsuki Presents Autumn-Winter 2026 Collection at Pitti Immagine Uomo 109

In a pivotal debut at the heart of Italian menswear, designer Soshi Otsuki reinterprets structural tailoring through the lens of Japanese spiritual craftsmanship and nuanced pattern manipulation.

Soshi Otsuki has unveiled his Autumn-Winter 2026 collection, titled “In Florence,” at Pitti Immagine Uomo 109. Since establishing his label in 2015, Otsuki has gained recognition for exploring dandyism by blending Japanese spiritual heritage with technical tailoring. This presentation in Florence represents a significant “re-importation” of the Italian suit culture that heavily influenced Japanese fashion in the 1980s and 90s, allowing the designer to engage directly with Western sartorial history.

The collection centers on the delicate relationship between the human body and tailored structures. Otsuki utilizes precise pattern-making and professional ironwork to create artificial curls in peak lapels and shirt collars, introducing a sense of “wavering” to otherwise rigid garments. This season also emphasizes functional movement; Oxford shirts are cut on the bias to produce elegant drapes when tucked in, ensuring the clothing completes its form through the wearer’s posture. The aesthetic remains quiet and hard-edged, focusing on the character formed by the individual’s silhouette rather than overt ornamentation.

Strategic collaborations further expand the collection’s technical boundaries. The season features experimental works with Proleta Re Art, the Spanish shirt label Camisas Manolo, and the legacy Japanese manufacturer Gunze. Furthermore, Otsuki continues his artistic partnership with Kota Okuda and debuts a new project with Asics Sportstyle to examine the intersection of anatomy and sportswear. While the collection was premiered on an international stage, 98% of the production continues to be rooted in Japan, maintaining the label’s dedication to high-level domestic manufacturing while projecting a refined vision onto the global fashion landscape.
