Auralee has unveiled its Autumn-Winter 2026 Men’s and Women’s collection, a season guided by a fundamental inquiry into what makes winter joyful. Moving away from the typical associations of cold stillness and darkness, designer Ryota Iwai presents a winter that feels luminous, airy, and quietly comforting. The collection is shaped by the delicate beauty of hushed, fleeting moments—such as the first breath of crisp air or the soft, slanted rays of a transparent sun.
Refinement and unforced ease define the silhouettes. Volumes are crafted with a surprising sense of levity; leather down blousons and sculpted vests made from supple calfskin appear to float rather than weigh down the form. This play between protection and delicacy is further explored through a disruption of tradition, pairing substantial cold-weather garments with light or sheer technical layers and transparent silk georgette. Materials like cashmere corduroy and finely packed merino mouton shearling introduce a sophisticated softness, while nep-yarn knits and tweeds provide a grounded depth to the texture.
The color palette anchors this vision of calm with soft beiges and pale blues. However, this tranquility is punctuated by bold color blocking and vivid flashes of radiant yellow, striking red, rich purple, and bright blue. These vibrant hues ripple across the collection like moments of pure joy, intended to lift the spirit and brighten the muted light of the season. Through this quiet dialogue between strength and softness, Auralee conjures a luminous sense of happiness that lingers long after the first frost.
