Human Made announced on June 15, 2026, its decision to acquire all outstanding shares of Undercover. The corporate move serves as an unprecedented consolidation of two major creative forces that shaped the trajectory of contemporary Japanese fashion. Nigo, the founder and creative director of Human Made, and Jun Takahashi, the designer and representative director of Undercover, are lifelong allies who together established the foundation of Tokyo’s influential Ura-Harajuku street culture during the 1990s. By integrating Undercover into its corporate umbrella, Human Made aims to strengthen its global intellectual property strategy, which stands as a core pillar of its future growth plans.
The share transfer is scheduled to be executed in February 2027. While the acquisition price remains undisclosed at this stage, the successful completion of the transaction will result in Undercover becoming a consolidated subsidiary of Human Made starting in January 2028. This partnership brings together Nigo’s global market presence and Takahashi’s distinct avant-garde design legacy under a singular corporate vision, marking a new chapter for Japanese streetwear on the global stage.
