John Lawrence Sullivan is launching a new collaboration with VOWWS, the Australia-born, LA-based duo known for their multidisciplinary artistry and distinctive “death-pop” sound. The collection drops on Friday, June 13, and will be available at select retailers, alongside a pair of immersive pop-up events in Tokyo.
VOWWS previously composed the original soundtrack for John Lawrence Sullivan’s Spring/Summer 2022 runway show themed “MAD MUD,” and the partnership also yielded a popular collaborative T-shirt. Now, three years later, the creative synergy between the two returns in the form of a limited-edition apparel release.
To commemorate the drop, pop-ups will be hosted at the John Lawrence Sullivan Nakameguro store from June 13 to 22 and at GR8 in Harajuku from June 13 to 15. Each space will be transformed to reflect the collaborative world of JLS and VOWWS through music and visuals. Customers who purchase collaboration items at any of the participating stores will receive an exclusive sticker as a novelty gift, while supplies last.
On the opening day, Friday, June 13, the Nakameguro store will host a free-entry launch event from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., featuring guest DJs and a cocktail party atmosphere. Items will be available for purchase throughout the evening. Additionally, customers who shop at the Nakameguro location during the pop-up period will receive an original pin badge in addition to the sticker, while supplies last.
The lineup features four graphic T-shirts and four hoodies, including three newly designed prints alongside one from their original collaboration. Each piece comes in black only, using John Lawrence Sullivan’s custom body, and is strictly limited in quantity. Purchases are limited to two items per customer per design, including different sizes. T-shirts are priced at ¥24,200, and hoodies at ¥41,800 (tax included).
The collection will be available at John Lawrence Sullivan Nakameguro, Shibuya Parco, Fujii Daimaru Kyoto, the brand’s online store, and GR8 (pop-up exclusive).
