LA Museum will launch a new digital exhibition featuring actor Nana Komatsu on Friday, July 18, 2025, at 7:07 PM JST. This virtual showcase presents 54 historic garments spanning from the 1960s to the 2010s, including select pieces from its ongoing “1950s–2010s History of Modern Fashion Design” collection. The lineup draws from global fashion capitals such as the UK, France, the US, Belgium, and Japan, spotlighting the work of visionary designers across six decades.

Rather than using mannequins, each piece is digitally rendered on Nana Komatsu herself through an innovative 3D scanning process. Posing freely and expressively, Komatsu transforms into a living “mannequin,” making it possible to appreciate the full silhouette and emotional depth of each garment. This immersive online format allows viewers to explore intricate details—down to the stitching and garment interiors—while proposing new ways to experience fashion beyond the limits of physical galleries.

Timed with the exhibition is the release of LA MUSEUM NANA KOMATSU, a 202-page photo book documenting behind-the-scenes moments from the 3D shoot, held in January 2025. Shot by photographer E-WAX and designed by Laila Co., Ltd., the book will be available in a limited pre-order edition with an exclusive cover from July 16 to August 3 via the LA Museum online store. A general release is scheduled for late September 2025. The book is priced at ¥7,000 (excluding tax) and measures 225 x 150 mm.

Founded by vintage fashion specialists LAILA, LA Museum is a digital platform launched in July 2024 that houses over 20,000 3D-scanned garments. It functions not only as a public-facing exhibition space but also as an educational and archival resource for designers and students. Beyond exhibitions, LA Museum continues to expand into video content, academic partnerships, and NFT-powered programming.
