Undercover and WTaps continue their ongoing collaboration “UNDERCOVER + WTAPS = ONE ON ONE” with a powerful new collection inspired by Akira Kurosawa’s iconic film Seven Samurai. Launching August 2, the release features a range of T-shirts that reinterpret scenes from the cinematic masterpiece using prints, jacquard patches, and illustrations—each item a wearable tribute to the film’s enduring legacy.
The visual direction of the collection was led by an all-star cast of creatives, including Jun Takahashi, Tetsu Nishiyama, Shin Takizawa, HIKARU, Yoshifumi Egawa, Sukeboshinchang, Katsutada Mano, and Kanji Maehara. Six next-generation models were also cast to embody the spirit of the collection in its visual campaign.
Among the most anticipated pieces is a limited edition boxed set exclusive to WTaps Aoyama and Undercover Aoyama. The set includes seven daily-wear T-shirts inspired by each of the samurai characters, carefully packed in a rattan basket and wrapped in a traditional furoshiki cloth. A designer-commentary catalog accompanies the set, adding further context to the creative process. This special item is available only at the two flagship locations, with the Undercover Aoyama store requiring advance lottery registration via the official app for first-day purchases.
Beyond the set, the lineup includes a standout shirt and shorts featuring the iconic circular-triangle-katakana “〇△た” motif seen on a flag in the film, as well as six color T-shirts and a variety of accessories.
