Dom Pérignon hosted a special evening in Tokyo’s Kaikai Kiki Gallery to celebrate its latest artistic dialogue with Takashi Murakami. The collaboration, unveiled under the project theme “Creation Is an Endless Journey,” embodies the Maison’s ongoing pursuit of harmony between tradition and innovation. Two limited editions—Dom Pérignon Vintage 2015 Murakami Edition and Dom Pérignon Rosé Vintage 2010 Murakami Edition—were revealed, each featuring Murakami’s signature floral motif replacing the vineyard imagery traditionally found on the champagne’s shield label. When placed side by side, the black bottles and gift boxes form a “floral tableau,” evoking Murakami’s fantastical universe.
The event brought together cultural figures and friends of the Maison, with remarks from Managing Director Jacques Girardot, Chef de Cave Vincent Chaperon, and Murakami himself. A one-night-only presentation of Murakami’s original painting “Summer Flower Field Under the Golden Sky” transformed the gallery into a dreamlike celebration of art and champagne.
A special menu by Natsuko Shoji, chef-owner of été and member of the Dom Pérignon Society, complemented the evening, pairing dishes that echoed Murakami’s floral aesthetics with the depth and elegance of Dom Pérignon Vintage 2015. The night concluded with a DJ set by Tomoyuki Tanaka (Fantastic Plastic Machine), weaving sound into the sensory dialogue between art and taste.
Among the attendees were Jin Akanishi, Youn-a, and Yoon, who joined the toast to creativity and timeless beauty. Each guest reflected on the collaboration’s spirit—Murakami describing the rosé as “a champagne I would want to share with my family on the last day of my life,” while Chaperon emphasized emotion as the true essence of creation.
Dom Pérignon Vintage 2015 Murakami Edition is priced at ¥65,120 (tax included), and Dom Pérignon Rosé Vintage 2010 Murakami Edition at ¥68,640 (tax included). Both are available now through select retailers and Dom Pérignon’s official channels.
