South Korea’s Yonhap News reported on the evening of November 12 that all five members of NewJeans will return to their agency ADOR, ending months of inactivity and speculation over a possible split.
Earlier that day, ADOR announced that two members, Hyein and Haerin, had decided to resume activities after discussions with their families and the label. At the time, the remaining three members had yet to confirm their stance. If the latest report proves accurate, the group appears to have avoided division and will reunite under ADOR’s management.
The conflict traces back to 2024, when ADOR’s then-CEO Min Hee-jin—credited as the creative force behind NewJeans—was dismissed following disputes with executives at parent company HYBE. The members subsequently declared the termination of their contracts, citing a breakdown of trust, and sought Min’s reinstatement. ADOR filed a lawsuit to confirm the validity of their exclusive contracts and won the first trial in October 2025.
Earlier in March, the Seoul Central District Court had prohibited independent activities by the members and imposed a penalty of ₩1 billion (approximately ¥110 million) for each violation, effectively halting all group activities. ADOR has stated that it will “do its best to ensure smooth operations going forward,” while urging the public to refrain from further speculation.
