A.P.C. x Fragment Design: Interaction #30

The long-standing friendship between Jean Touitou and Hiroshi Fujiwara culminates in a collaborative capsule inspired by the Supports/Surfaces art movement and shared musical subcultures.

The creative paths of A.P.C. and Fragment Design converge once again at the intersection of friendship, craft, and culture. This latest collaboration, titled Interaction #30, celebrates the enduring bond between A.P.C. founder Jean Touitou and Hiroshi Fujiwara, the multidisciplinary creative often referred to as the “Godfather of Harajuku.” Their partnership is rooted in a shared aesthetic language that spans curiosity, sound, and personal style, reflecting Fujiwara’s influence in introducing hip-hop and American casual culture to Tokyo.

For this capsule, the designers drew inspiration from “Supports/Surfaces,” a French contemporary art movement known for deconstructing and reconstructing forms and materials. This conceptual influence is visible in the collaborative branding, which features a slash (/) connecting the two labels. The iconic A.P.C. guitar and dagger emblem has also been reinterpreted, now integrated with Fragment Design’s signature lightning bolt motif. Touitou describes the project as an inevitable alignment of aesthetics across music, culinary arts, streetwear, and modern art.

The collection includes a range of ready-to-wear pieces and accessories that balance minimal construction with technical detail. Highlights include a denim “Canadian tuxedo” inspired by cinematic history, from the work jackets seen in Charlie Chaplin’s Modern Times to the rubber-striped jeans paying homage to Paul Newman’s Cool Hand Luke. The lineup also features white poplin shirts with initial embroidery representing H.F. and J.T., graphic tees, and leather card holders. The collection launches on May 19, 2026, at A.P.C. stores and the brand’s website, followed by a dedicated pop-up titled “Sound and Surface” at Isetan Shinjuku Men’s from May 20 to May 26, 2026.
