Careering Salon by Katetaylor Reopens with an Expanded Ground Floor

Reopening on January 5, 2026, Careering Salon by Katetaylor expands with a new ground floor, reimagined as a cohesive space designed by Hiroshi Fujiwara and Shota Matsuda.

Careering Salon by Katetaylor reopens on January 5, 2026, following a significant expansion that adds a newly built ground-floor space. The salon is a collaborative project between jewelry brand Careering, founded in 2016, and hair salon Katetaylor, which operates multiple locations in Omotesando and Kumamoto.

The renewal reshapes the space from the exterior inward. Designed by Hiroshi Fujiwara and Shota Matsuda, the façade has been reworked with a distinctive tile treatment, while the interior now extends seamlessly across the new ground floor and the existing second floor. Rather than creating contrast between levels, the design emphasizes continuity, allowing the entire salon to read as a single, unified environment.

Careering’s approach to jewelry—particularly the sense of reassurance and subtle psychological effect associated with wearing its pieces—is translated here into spatial form. This idea informs the atmosphere of the salon, resulting in a refined and composed setting that heightens perception without excess.

With the expansion, seating capacity is nearly doubled, and a new lineup of stylists joins the salon. Together, these changes position Careering Salon by Katetaylor as a space that balances functionality with a considered design language, offering clients a renewed experience rooted in the brand’s underlying philosophy.

The salon is located at 5-2-7 Jingumae, Shibuya, Tokyo, occupying the first and second floors, a three-minute walk from Omotesando Station’s A1 exit. Business hours are 11:00–20:00 on Mondays, Thursdays, and Fridays, and 10:00–19:00 on weekends and public holidays. The salon is closed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
