French alpine sports lifestyle pioneer Salomon has announced the appointment of South Korean icon Jisoo as its new global ambassador. The strategic partnership signifies a deeper expansion for the Annecy-based label beyond pure technical performance. By intersecting mountain heritage with contemporary streetwear movements, the brand seeks to advance its narrative footprint across music, fashion, and global entertainment sectors through communities that redefine daily movement.
Reflecting on her upbringing close to the mountains in South Korea, the internationally acclaimed artist highlighted that outdoor environments have consistently served as a source of personal freedom and grounding. This innate subcultural affinity aligns seamlessly with the label’s design ethos, which prioritizes a fluid balance between industrial footwear functionality, bodily movement, and modern aesthetics. The collaborative alignment targets a rising consumer generation that refuses to acknowledge historical boundaries between technical sportswear frameworks and runway expressions.
According to Kristof Cavazzana, Salomon’s Global VP of Product and Experience, the creative union introduces alpine subcultures into broader, fluid cultural conversations. Operating as the initial phase of a long-term relationship, the dual entities plan to systematically introduce collaborative products and multi-layered creative installations over time. Grounded by developmental research at the Annecy Design Center, the project mirrors the label’s futuristic commitment to shaping lifestyle trends rather than merely reacting to the marketplace.
