Mercedes-Benz Announces Verdy Collaboration

The prominent Tokyo-based graphic artist shares his personal automotive journey and previews upcoming collaborative apparel and a custom vehicle wrap.

Tokyo-based graphic artist Verdy has officially announced an upcoming creative collaboration with German luxury automotive manufacturer Mercedes-Benz. Known for distributing contemporary Japanese street culture across the global realms of fashion, art, and music, the designer revealed the venture during a live panel appearance. The project marks a significant milestone for the artist, who shared that the only vehicle he has ever purchased in his life is a light blue Mercedes-Benz G-Class. Inspired by street culture pioneers such as Hiroshi Fujiwara and Nigo, Verdy recalled purchasing matching G-Class models alongside Nigo during the pandemic, which solidified his long-standing ambition to collaborate exclusively with the automotive brand.

The creative partnership was officially initiated in Tokyo, with the artist currently developing a specialized range of custom artwork engineered specifically for the project. The upcoming lifestyle delivery comprises limited apparel items, including graphic t-shirts worn by the designer and event staff, alongside a custom-designed vehicle wrap. According to the artist, the design process focuses entirely on creating pieces he personally desires to own. No official product release dates, distribution timelines, or pricing structures have been confirmed at this time.
