Tripster and FamilyMart’s Convenience Wear Launch Pocket T-Shirt in Limited Collaboration

FamilyMart’s original apparel line, Convenience Wear, joins forces with Kunichi Nomura’s Tripster for the first time. Their collaborative Pocket T-Shirt, finished with a vintage wash, will be available nationwide from September 26 in a limited run of 100,000 pieces.

FamilyMart is expanding its apparel project, Convenience Wear, with its first-ever collaboration with Tripster, the design unit led by Kunichi Nomura. The new Pocket T-Shirt will release on September 26 at approximately 14,000 FamilyMart stores across Japan, excluding select locations, with a limited production run of about 100,000 pieces across all colors and sizes.

Developed with fashion designer Hiromichi Ochiai, Convenience Wear is built on the concept of “good materials, good techniques, good design.” The Pocket T-Shirt draws from the brand’s signature Outer T-Shirt, redesigned with a wide neckline, a chest pocket, and Tripster’s logo printed on the right hem. To achieve a vintage feel, the shirt has been treated with a wash-and-tumble finish that also prevents shrinkage. Available in white and black, the T-shirt is priced at ¥1,998 (tax included) and offered in sizes XS through XL, with XS and S exclusive to FamilyMart’s online store.

Commenting on the release, Kunichi Nomura says:
“Convenience Wear as workwear. Just adding one pocket on the chest makes it workwear, don’t you think? Especially during these lingering hot days, when pants pockets are already crammed with phones and keys, having a chest pocket for your most-used tools or personal items is incredibly practical. And the fact that you can buy it anywhere, at a low price, while still being high quality—that’s the point. This Pocket T is a true all-rounder, pairing well with denim, slacks, or skirts. Whether worn true-to-size or oversized, however people choose to style it, nothing would make me happier as the creator.”

Ochiai adds that working with Nomura was a long-held wish, admiring his deep cultural sensibility and refined approach. He highlights that this collaboration captures the cultural significance of Convenience Wear and integrates Nomura’s unique vision. Alongside the launch, FamilyMart will also present exclusive visual campaigns celebrating the partnership.

Online reservations will run from September 30 to October 13, with customer pick-up scheduled between October 23 and October 29.
